IMPORTANT COURSE NEWS

Dear all, hope your well and enjoying your golf? The weather has been disappointing the last few months but the drainage has worked brilliantly

Very very busy times ahead over the next 12 weeks or so as we start our Autumn work.

The Draining of the 8th Green, Top Changing Greens, Trilo work on fairways, levelling some Tees,  rebuilding of some Steps, Fairway drainage and the remodelling of the 14th Pond,       ( thanks to the Development Fund members), to name just a few jobs.

OH, this is also in addition to maintaining the Golf Course to its best possible condition we can!

Too much going on to list it all now so to keep you up to date here is whats happening the next 3 weeks subject to weather and ground conditions.

This week you will have noticed that the 14th fairway now has a temporary green being prepared on the fairway? This is for when we commence work on the remodelling of the 14th Pond . More details of this will be posted in the Clubhouse this week

Artist's impression of how the 14th pond will look.

Also this week we are scarifying fairways 6,10,11 and 12. Its earlier than we normally do this work but we want to do some drainage works on these areas.

Scarifying the 11th fairway

Next week (21st August) the 8th Green will be drained. The hole will be  open other but you will play to the practice green for a couple of weeks. We are using the Hrydrowick system, the same as we did on greens 3,10 and 18. It costs a bit more but recovery is so much quicker .

Also Thursday next week my staff will be trained on the newly purchased "Top Changer". This will be carried out on the Putting Green which will therefore be closed for the day. Apologies for the inconvenience.

The plan then is to early September 'Top Change' the greens and conditions permitting again in October and November.

Week commencing 28th August

Work starts on the 14th pond and the temporary Green will be used when my staff are working. On these days all Tee markers will be put back onto the White or Blue tees.

We will also be starting drainage works on the 10th fairway. We may have to either shorten the hole or close it at times . I will keep you, the Office and the Pro shop updated

The Course has been in fantastic condition I hope you all agree and I appreciate there is lot of work about to start. I hope you will support my staff and understand that these works are  to improve your Golf course going forward. I apologise for any inconveniences it causes to you when playing your Course.

If you have any questions re the above please contact me or ask members of the Greens Committee. We will all be happy to answer your questions. If they dont know the answer then they will ask myself and they can communicate the answer back to you

That's it for now but will send you another update end of August to let you know what's next and what's been done.

PLEASE REPAIR YOUR PITCH MARKS, PUT YOUR DIVOTS BACK AND RAKE YOUR FOOTPRINTS OUT OF BUNKERS!!  IT'S YOUR JOBS NOT OURS!

ENJOY YOUR COURSE, ENJOY YOUR CLUB ............IT'S YOURS REMEMBER!
