Nature has flicked it's switch !

Well the Rough is not quite that long yet ! However Nature has definitely flicked it's switch ! Blink and the grass grows!!

With warmer temperatures and showers, some stupidly heavy, pretty much every day the grass all over the Course is growing rapidly!. Nicer problems to have than the cold wet Winter ones! We are trying to get all buggy's off paths but its a difficult call at the moment.

The bridge at Ongar Wednesday afternoon still flooded after the torrential shower we had Tuesday afternoon

With the Bank Holiday's as well, it means we are cutting as much as we can when we can. We are winning most battles though I appreciate some of the perimeter areas are beating us at the moment ! Grass clippings is the big issue presently.

We have managed to strim all areas from holes 1-14 this week and will get finished the rest next week

We are just starting to lower surfaces to their normal 'Summer heights' of cut. This does create further grass clipping issues but only for a couple of weeks so please be patient.

Fairways, Approaches and Tees will all receive their Spring feeds the next two weeks

Greens have recovered very nicely from the Winter and running nice and true. The last lot of over seeding has been very successful .

Greens have recovered really well and are running nice and true

Please note until the seed is properly established we are cautious to vert-cut or lower the greens to summer heights yet, all things being good this will happen in the next 2 weeks. So, we are keeping the greens slightly longer than normal for this time of year until then.

Next week the greens will be micro aerated , groomed and top dressed.

The 2nd Hole everyone seems to love so hopefully it was worth the wait. The steps are not quite finished yet and there is another pair of steps to be placed up to the right hand tee.

Plans for the 14th Pond as part of the next Development fund project are coming along nicely.

Finally I know we have had a lot of new members join the last 3-4 weeks and on behalf of my Greenstaff and myself I would like to welcome you all to Abridge Golf Club

Enjoy your Course, Enjoy your Club ....it's your's remember!

Regards
